BYPASSLAB was a 5-day workshop on data gathering, visualization and design research, run by IGCS (Indo-German Centre for Sustainability) at IIT Madras. The workshop was thematically focused on Chennai’s peri-urban fringe, undergoing urbanization at a fast rate.
This book was designed to document the outcomes of the workshop and the various research projects produced by its participants.
Each team’s research was laid out to represent the unique ways in which they went about their research and presented their data.
Every group’s project was different, and the design of each section evolved and adapted to the specific data and imagery of each project, from maps to photographs to infographics.
